In accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, ISTF Nigeria collects the following data for the sole purpose of scholarly publishing:

  • Authors: Name, email, institutional affiliation, and ORCID ID.

  • Reviewers: Name, email, areas of expertise, and review history.

  • Users: IP addresses and cookies (standard for OJS functionality to maintain your login session).

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Editorial Workflow: Your data is used to manage the submission, peer review, and production process.

  • Communication: We use your email to send status updates, revision requests, and journal announcements.

  • Publication: Author names and affiliations are made public alongside the published article as part of the permanent academic record.

3. Data Sharing and Security

  • Third Parties: We do not sell or trade your personal information. Data may be shared with service providers like Crossref (for DOIs) or iThenticate (for plagiarism checks).

  • Security: We implement technical measures to protect your data from unauthorized access. However, as no online system is 100% secure, users provide data at their own risk.

4. Your Rights

Under the NDPA/GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.

  • Request the correction of inaccurate information.

  • Request the deletion of your account (provided it does not conflict with the integrity of the published academic record).
